Welcome to the first update on the feasibility study. The first few weeks have been very busy with data collection tasks. The data are the inputs to the analysis phase of the project and include the following types of information.
Key contacts across the town and the schools
The Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) for the town
Enrollment data
The school’s strategic plan
School schedules
Current shared services agreements
List of groups that use school facilities
Town Geographic Information System (GIS) data
Future town development plans
Many folks across several town offices worked to provide all the requested data in a timely fashion.
The project team created four surveys to gather feedback on the suitable of the current school infrastructure. The surveys are anonymous; answers cannot be traced back to the respondent. The survey is hosted by a third-party, not be the Town or Thomaston Public Schools. There is one survey for each type of stakeholder. They are as follows.
Teacher & Staff – To be sent through the school email system
Parent & Guardian – To be sent through the school email system
Students – To be sent through the school email system
Residents & Business – This survey is available here.
Please take a few minutes to help define the future of our school infrastructure.
