Thomaston gets its name from Seth Thomas, who moved here from Wolcott, Connecticut because the roads were better suited to his thriving clock making business. Thomaston features a variety of lakes, parks, playgrounds and activities.

Whether you're young or young at heart, Thomaston offers abundant recreational opportunities. From historic landmarks like the Thomaston Opera House to lively outdoor celebrations, there's so much to experience here. The Thomaston Opera House sits in the heart of downtown. Completed in 1885, the theater still features more than 80 shows a year.

The outdoor Summer Concert series is great for those who appreciate music. Stop at the weekly farmer's market for fresh, locally-grown produce. Remember to visit the Railroad Museum of New England where you can take a train ride along the Naugatuck River.
