The Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston (FACT) will hold an Earth Day Event on Saturday, April 22nd from 11 am to 3 pm outside the Thomaston Town Hall at 158 Main Street, Thomaston.  The outside walking tour will include a members’ exhibit depicting a Land and Sea theme.  Enjoy paintings by the FACT Ten-2-One Artists and photos by the FACT Camera Club.  Visitors are encouraged to stroll around this free event, sit on the various benches in the delightful nooks and crannies, and enjoy the art and Town Hall, built in 1884 for the Thomaston Opera House.

Inside the Town Hall’s Crescent Gallery, artists will be available to assist with a communal painting of two large panels:  one of Land, and one of Sea.  Visitors are encouraged to paint together, all levels welcome!  There will be more art activities inside the Gallery, as well.

Other happenings include live music by Eran Troy Danner from 11:30 – 2:30; the Sharon Audubon Society will have a “Live Birds of Prey” exhibit at 11:00 in back of the Town Hall; Thomaston’s own puppeteer, Robin McCahill, who will host a workshop between 1 and 3 pm; an interactive photo booth; sidewalk chalk; hula hoops; a fairy garden, and a walkabout with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.  There will also be a box available for those who need to ‘retire’ an American Flag.

Bring the whole family for a fresh, fun perspective of the Arts, as well as a celebration of Earth Day!  For more information, visit the FACT Facebook page, or the website:  www.thomastonfinearts.com.  Rain date will be Sunday, April 23, 11 am - 3 pm.
