Building & Land Use

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING BUILDING & LAND USE INSPECTIONS DURING THE PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY:

(Updated October 1, 2020)

Exterior residential, new unoccupied residential construction, and commercial inspections will continue as normal; however, requests for interior inspections of occupied residential structures will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.  Please be aware that inspection staff reserve the right to postpone any interior or exterior inspections if concerned about obvious signs of illness and/or inadequate separation distance.

If you have specific questions about what this may mean for your current project, please contact the Building & Land Use office.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

BUILDING & LAND USE OFFICE PROCEDURES IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19:

(Updated October 1, 2020)

The Building & Land Use Office is open to the public during normal Town Hall business hours.  In order to continue assisting our residents and their contractors in a safe but expeditious manner, we have instituted the following procedures:

  • Please be aware that, as with all Town Hall offices, a mask is required for entry.
  • Please knock first prior to opening the door, in order to allow our staff time to put on their own face masks.
  • Please wait in the hallway outside the office door if someone is already present and being served in the office, so as to ensure we do not exceed occupancy limitations. The hall floor is marked with six-foot intervals at which you may safely wait, and we will assist you as soon as possible.
  • Residents and their contractors are strongly encouraged to use email and/or phone to transact business wherever possible, in an effort to minimize the possibility for congestion outside the Land Use Office.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation!
