The Town of Thomaston has awarded Tyler Technologies the contract to perform the 2021 revaluation. The winning and lowest bid was $137,600. This revaluation will be a full inspection of all properties in Town.
The revaluation process should start sometime in August or September of 2020. The exact start date will be posted. Notices will be sent in November of 2021 to inform taxpayers of their new value. At the same time hearings will be held so that taxpayers can discuss the values with the revaluation company. These taxpayers will receive new notices by the end of December 2021.
If taxpayers do not agree with their assessments, they may appeal them to the Board of Assessment Appeals. The Board will meet in March 2022; however, a written appeal must be filed with the Assessor’s Office by February 20, 2022. These new values will affect the bills due and payable July 2022. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, interior inspections of residential properties will not be done. In their place, questionnaires will be mailed to all properties.
